- "We took the best of everything we had and prayed it would work. You can't possibly understand what the Jupiter meant to us when it rolled off the production line... The galaxy was falling apart, but now we finally had a chance to fight back."
- —an alternate timeline's Jonas Quinn, on the construction of the Jupiter
The MBP-305, officially the Mobile Battle Platform or Jupiter-class battlecruiser, is the newest and most-advance class of starcraft constructed by humanity, and is comprised of the latest breakthroughs from the various Alliance races to ensure maximum firepower and durability. Originally, the vessel would not have been built until 2015, at the height of the Der'kal Invasion, but when that time period's Jonas Quinn traveled back to 2010 to warn Earth about the serious threat the aliens posed, he gave them the plans five years ahead of schedule. Given that it incorporates technology not due to be developed for another half-decade, it is easily one of the most powerful classes of ships in the Milky Way Galaxy, capable of engaging multiple Der'kal cruisers or Wraith hive ships with ease.
So far, the only MBP-305s in operation are the Jupiter and Aurora, both under the authority of the United Nations and the International Stargate Command.
