Kara Carlson was an outstanding pilot – one of the best at West Point Academy. Kara lost her father at the start of the Tau'ri-Goa'uld War and had regrets about her relationship with her father. She had unresolved issues, and had turned to Commander John Martin as a surrogate father.
F-302 Interceptor Fighter training[]
During her last few years at the Academy she learned how to fly the F-302 Interceptor Fighter and she was taught by then Brigadier General Jonathan J. O'Neill (Jack) and he was amazed by how quickly she learned how to fly the fighter, and she graduated a year later.
