"This time, your vessel will not escape."
Vur'naa, during an encounter with the Aurora

The Aurora was a DSC-304 battlecruiser originally constructed by Earth to aid in the fight against the Ori, though its role was greatly expanded at the conflict's end, when it became humanity's only vessel in the Milky Way. Commanded by Colonel Via Sanders for its entire run, the Aurora became infamous for being able to escape any battle without destruction, first confounding the likes of Zanous Garrin and his men, and later managing to stay one step ahead of the Der'kal during the initial stages of their invasion. Because the craft often ferried SG-1 across the galaxy, it became an iconic symbol of both the team and Earth's power as a whole, so much so that the alien commander Vur'naa made it his personal mission to destroy the DSC-304 himself. But after countless last-second saves, the valiant ship finally fell in the last seconds of the First Battle of Earth, when it was blown apart attempting to jump into hyperspace.

The second MBP-305, originally in the service of China and named Mao Zedong, was rechristened Aurora in honor of the lost vessel when its captain took command of it in early 2013.
